Tanpaintings is the studio of Onthephin — a place for original paintings and for people who want to live with them.

The work is concerned with atmosphere: light moving through dark ground, the edge of a place, the moment before a landscape resolves. Paintings are made slowly, then shown without ornament.

An original is a physical artwork. It is typically $999, and when it is available it ships worldwide at no additional charge.

A digital edition exists so the image can travel more easily. For $5 you receive a high-resolution file for private use. It is not a substitute for the painting, and it is not shipped as a print.

Collecting from Tanpaintings is meant to be direct. You see the work, you choose the original or the digital edition, and the studio handles the rest.
